Long time ventrilo user. Running Windows 10, just recently added a sound card (ASUS Strix Soar) and a new headset (Sennheiser Game One), and I'm not getting any mic output in Vent.
Have all other input/output devices disabled through the audio manager, have Direct Sound enabled for both Input & Output devices in Vent setup, and both are on Headphones / Microphone (STRIX SOUND CARD). I am getting output in Windows and other programs, just not Ventrilo. Verified with Monitor and Test functions in Vent setup. Appreciate the help in advance! |

first try running vent in admin mode: rt-clik on the vent icon and select 'run as admin'
does your icon turn green when pressing the ptt key? does the strix have an audio control panel app? if yes, are there any settings or SFX that can be temporarily disabled? |

Yes, always running Ventrilo in admin mode.
Icon does indeed turn green with hitting PTT key. It does have an app, "Sonic Studio", and I've attempted that, disabled all SFX/settings for a "stock" or "default" style mic, which didn't help. For the time being, I've switched my headset to the onboard audio (Realtek) and I'm back in business. I'm starting to suspect that Asus' drivers/software is poorly integrated, because their "Sonic Studio" program has been crashing regularly as well (though not timed with Ventrilo). |

check your pc/mobo website for any BIOS, chipset, audio firmware/driver updates. there may be fixes that resolve some problems.
