To re-iterate, you CANNOT plug the 3.5MM jack...
To re-iterate, you CANNOT plug the 3.5MM jack into your Mac 'mic input' and have it work. It's not a mic input, it's a line level input.
The Line OUT will work for standard headphones / headsets....
