However I noticed that the sound distorts while I'm in the recording tab, but if I disable the Bluetooth mic it works fine. Really odd. I have no issues when I use Skype. So...

Yes it's a Bluetooth, and I set up those tabs to the Bluetooth device. I did what you said with the sound disabling the devices that aren't in use. It hasn't fixed the problem either.
