My guildmate uses a Mac 10.3.x I had her download the prototype 7. I also in turn downloaded the Beta client for windows, Since I am the Admin for our vent server I changed the Codex to Speex 16bit 16hz 8 Qlty. Now she can hear us but not say anything. Any ideas?

First things first: does she have the proper input device selected in her System Preferences->Sound->Input control panel? Does she have the input volume turned up to a reasonable level?

Did she map a push-to-talk key in Ventrilo and make sure to follow the instructions under issue #4 here:

If all that is the case, what kind of mic is she using and how is it connected?

Mac's require line-level mics. If you just plug a standard PC mic into a Mac with an audio-in port, it won't work as the signal is not strong enough.

If her mic is connected wrong, the easiest solution is a Griffin Technologies iMic USB adapter.
