The past 3 days (nothing has changed on my compute at all) my vent will randomly disconnect at completely random intervals. It takes a moment to actually disconnect, and when it does it is only disconnected for a very short time and immediately logs back in. Nothing else connected to the internet will stop working, League of Legends goes without a hitch, my Trillian stays connected, just vent disconnects.
I can't figure out why it is disconnecting. |
keep in mind, the network path to the vent server is probably different than any other connected service.
the next time it happens, run a traceroute to the server and post the results: start > run cmd {hit enter} tracert serverhostname(found in server setup) (example: tracert frost.pure-voice.net ) also perform a bandwidth check - www.speedtest.net does the vent ping show abnormally high numbers before the disco? |
The disconnects are coming in more frequently now. I am the only one in our vent having these problems. No I do not get a higher ping when I am disconnecting. It just randomly drops and reconnects. I just disconnected from vent 3 times during a 20minute game of League of Legends, and 3 more within 5 minutes after the game.

Scratch that, I caught a disconnect in the process it had an 18k ping roughly and did a tracert, it had basically the same exact results as the previous one i posted.
So far I am on about 11 d/c's in 30min without anything else going out. All my tracerts I have done look roughly the same with nothing looking to abnormal. |
have you tried power-cycling the router
in vent setup/misc tab, try setting 'process priority=high' |
I have reset the router and modem a good dozen times.
Yes I have checked the process priority around to real time and high and all the others. I am checking another vent right now. |
It just seems that cadmium.typefrag.com Washington DC vent server is causing a problem.
|
i'm beginning to wonder if there's a backbone issue as all day my forum refreshes have been really slow and my network goes thru the DC area.
|
I have been on a different server after all that and I have had not 1 issue. A friend I am playing with it who was disconnecting from EVERYTHING is not having any problems either.
|
It's been this way for me for at the very least 3 days.

Reepa,
All of our servers are currently running at optimum levels at this time - including servers hosted in Washington, DC. If you would like, you can try moving your server's hosting location through the online Control Panel via the 'Edit Configuration' page. You will see the Hosting Location just below the Custom Hostname feature that has recently been added. Simply change the location and click 'Save' to apply the change. Your server will be available immediately after changing the location. The only change that will occur will be an updated Hostname (you will no longer be using cadmium.typefrag.com). All other information would remain exactly the same. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us for further assistance with your server. We are always more than happy to help! http://typefrag.com/support/contact-us/ |
I'm having the same issue with the disconnecting and reconnecting i've ran a speed test and a trace route which i'll post but the weird thing is when i'm on my other guild's vent server i don't have a single problem.

@ pissed
can you also post a trace to the good server so we can compare the paths to see where they differ. also try a speedtest and pick a chicago location as that's where this server is located. |
