Vent / BF2 Problem

Hey guys

since updating to 3.2.0 I have been having the following problem and have been unable to remedy it:

If I am just in ventrilo/windows, both PTT and voice-activation work fine. However, once connected to a Battlefield 2 server I lose my voice, meaning the voice activation doesn't react (button stays red) and the PTT does not transmit (button goes green but no transmit). S

Solutions:
I have attempted the following solutions to remedy this problem;
- Updating sound card driver
- using voice activation instead of PTT
- Re-installing sound drivers / ventrilo (cleaned with Driver Cleaner)
- De-activating VoiP in BF2
- De-activating EAX in BF2

Setup:
The following are the specs and driver details of my current setup:

Software:
- Windows Vista Ultimate Edition (French with English language pack)
- Ventrilo 3.2.0

Hardware
:
Creative X-Fi Fatality (Using front panel - Line in 2 for microphone)
  • Driver: 6.0.1.1304 (25/10/07)
I would be thankful for any constructive suggestions ;)

So it does not work properly, as it can not work with all the set commands and actions for vista.

So to work around this you do not need to run vista in admin or set it in xp mode or any of that!

All you have to do is turn off "user account control"!

Then it will work first time every time, and if ventrilo was made properly i would not be telling you this.

“Flagship Industries” I would have thought by now you could have made a ventrilo which works with vista not hinders it!

Hey Steves,

thanks for your reply. I have 'user control' turned off, unfortunately it does not work. What really bugs me is that Vista was working fine with the old version of Ventrilo and only now the problem has arisen. ;/

From what I understand it also does not affect all Vista users.

Cheers,

you are missing 1.1 and sp1 updates for the older programs for winxp!

you will need to install net 1.1 then do the updates and then the fix!

also are you using onboard sound or external!

and run vista manager to clean up those fragged reg files.

search google for vista manager

or better yet i can help you live on line with msn if you want it

Ok installing net 1.1 and SP1 now. Will let you know what happens. I've got a creative X-Fi Fatality soundcard.

Thanks!
