the Client is causing me to double click

like, when i have ventrilo running, i will double click things even when i only single click for no apparent reason, and its getting frustrating.
I use a macbook pro running 10.8.2

Does this happen all the time?

Does this happen immediately or does it take a while?

it didn't used to happen but now it happens whenever i open the program

Are you using the trackpad on the MacBook or an external Mouse?
