Win7 64bit / Vent 3.0.5 / USB speakers
After installing the vent 3.0.5 client on win7 64 bit and opening vent, pressing connect and it appears to work correctly, but I can't hear any speech, although I can see that people are speaking. I play WoW, btw.
[Unable to activate DirectSound for selected device. DirectSoundCaptureCreate failed. HR=DSERR_NODRIVER. No sound driver is available for use.] I currently use USB speakers, is the above error because of that? I had win98 XP pro 64 bit (along with the same usb speakers) installed before win7 and vent worked with no problems. Any suggestions? Additional information available upon request. |
in vent setup/voice-binds-speech tabs, set the output device to enable 'use directsound' then set the name to that of the usb speakers

@smc
the error message indicates a problem with the mic input. in vent setup, is the input set for 'use directsound' and the name of the mic device? check for this too: http://ventrilo.com/forums/showpost....62&postcount=6 does the mic work here: Windows Vista/Windows 7 Programs / Accessories / Sound Recorder / create a recording then save it Windows Media Player (WMP) / playback recording |
