Linux Server
 

I am having problems setting up the free vent server on linux ubuntu 8.10. Every time I try to run the server with the command:

sudo sh ventrilo_srv

I get the error message:

ventrilo_srv: 1: Syntax error: Unterminated quoted string

I have not modified the ventrilo_srv.ini file in any way. I'm relatively new to linux, so it might be something very simple that I'm missing. Thanks in advance.

try:
sudo ./ventrilo_srv

If you want it to run as a deamon use
sudo ./ventrilo_srv -d

I am getting a similar issue

sudo ./ventrilo_srv

returns:
./ventrilo_srv: 2: ./ventrilo_srv: Syntax error: Unterminated quoted string

What am I missing?

check the ventrilo_srv.ini file for any spaces between the "=" and the following text

Thanks for the reply but I think the problem might have been that I was trying to run it on an ARM system
