Default Mic., internal mic, etc...

Hey there, Thanks for a mac client, truely awesome..

Anyway. I am using a powerbook 1.4 ghz... I am using external speakers but an internal mic. I can hear other people but I can't seem to talk. Ventrilo doesn't seem to recognize the internal mic to actually even be there. All tests well in the system preferences.

Will an internal mic simply not work? Will an external mic work on a powerbook?

Well any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
jason

In setup does it show a "default" and "built-in" for the sound input device?

If so, go to system preferences and adjust the mic input level there. I don't think the powerbook would be any different from my G4 tower, but since I don't have access to one I can't say for sure.

PS: As a last resort you could try plugging in a external USB microphone. that's what I use for testing.

The internal mic on my iBook works just fine. Yeah just make sure you have your input volume is turned up.
