Default problems of course

I've used ventrilo for a year or two, and recently formatted my computer for the first time in that period.

Upon trying to speak on vent, I was not transmitting, despite changing pretty much every setting. I could, however, use microsoft soft recorded therefore ruling out a microphone problem.

I then updated my sound card's drivers, which ironically made the situation worse because now in sound recorder playback is very quiet. The only way I can transmit is by blowing down the microphone. I tried putting outbound\hardware to 10 but this didn't work.

edit: when using "monitor" in settings, I get numbers between 0 and 15, not sure what that means :O
