Default No event sounds

I'm running Vent, version 3.0.4 on my Macbook laptop, which is running Mac OS X version 10.6.8.

I have two different user accounts for this computer: my personal one and my work one. On my personal account, Vent works just fine, but on my work account, I am, unable to hear any event sounds. People can hear me and I can hear everyone - no problems there. However, I cannot hear ANY other Vent sounds.

My sounds are currently set to Built-In Input/Output, but switching them to Default doesn't work either. When I switched my Events to All TTS, I could actually hear what was going on, but I find TTS kind of obnoxious and would prefer to have the simple sounds. My binds are also set to Built-In Input.

Does anyone have a solution to this?
Thanks!

in the vent setup/binds section, what is the 'amplify' slider set at ?

fyi - the current mac version is 3.0.13. you might try renaming your version and installing the latest.
