Default Caps lock as PTT key problem

Hi,

In the Windows Ventrilo client, I use Caps Lock as my PTT hotkey and it transmits only when the key is held down. On my Mac however, the same key acts as a toggle and once pressed, continues transmitting until pressed again. (Shift, ctrl and most other keys transmit only when held down)

Is there any way to reconfigure it such that caps lock functions the way I am used to?

Thanks in advance

Did you try troubleshooting steps #6 and #15 from the troubleshooting thread?

Why are you booting and holding down the option key? That is normally used for booting to a different startup device; external hard drive, DVD etc. So you would normally not do that.

If it asks for a password when you boot with the option key down, that means you (or someone) has set up an Open Firmware Password on your Mac. I first recommend asking whoever did it what the password is.

What happens when you boot normally? (i.e. just pushing the power button and NOT holding down any keys)
