Default mac mini intel broke my audio input

Installed vent, worked fine in voice activated mode. I turned on push to talk, set a key, and it asked me to turn on Universal Access. This seems to have broken my microphone audio in general, even if you go into Sound and make noise/talk, it doesn't even register on that audio bar. I disabled universal access and disabled push to talk and the problem persists. Tried rebooting, reinstalling Vent (which kept my settings, odd) and playing with Universal Access with no luck.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Logitech headset, typical boom microphone non-amplified plugged right into the line-in jack.

That would be your problem. You can't use an analog headset with a Mac. You need to use a USB headset or a USB-converter such as the iMic.

the other thing u need to do is make sure that u have ur input levels inside system preferences above 0... usually half way is fine... sometimes when u modify certain things it brings the level down to 0. happens to me a bunch.
