Default People cannot hear me, I can hear them

I am confused.. I can hear other poeple, but they cant hear me. can you explain to me what to try.

If you have a "standard" pc headset/microphone, the microphone IS NOT POWERED. Macs require powered audio input for their line in, so unless you have an interface like an iMic or a USB/bluetooth headset (or a built-in mic) you will not be able to speak.

Additionally, if you have a key mapped to push-to-talk, make sure that when you press that key, your icon turns green, indicating that you're transmitting. If it does not, you need to turn on "Enable access for assitive devices" in the Universal Access system preference pane.

Also For WIndows XP users YOU MUST HAVE SERVICE PACK 2 Installed or you will face many issues with not hear ing sound one way or the other. BE SURE OF THIS if you are on XP and your problem is similar to this users issue
