Default Can't Connect to Server while using VPN

I'm currently running Ventrillo 3.0.8 (Win-x64) version, and have never had any problems with Vent. Recently I started using a VPN, (Private Internet Access). Now I cannot connect to the servers unless I disable the VPN. I emailed PIA (VPN) about it and they replied with this:

So because voice chat is going to be a 2 way communicational software, you are more than likely going to have to do some port forwarding. If Ventrillo offers an option to specify the communication port, specify the Forwarded one as they are going to have a specific port for forwarding, obtaining this information is critical to resolve the issue. Once we have this information we can give you instructions on how to port forward.

I cant find anything within the client for this, and the only thing I can find anywhere is for the Vent servers. Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance.

you will need to configure the portforward for the port your server uses (both TCP and UDP for the same port#) as well as port 6100 UDP.

the port# is found in the server config section in the client.
