Exclamation Can hear but cannot speak.

OS: Windows XP
Sound card: Realtek High Definition (drivers 2.26)
Setup:

I am unable to make any sound when using ventrilo.

It worked fine for few months. One day it suddenly stopped working. I didnt change any settings. Tried reinstalling ventrilo, tried new drivers for sound device. When i press push2talk people can see yellow speaker, but can't hear a word. My mic is fine, i tried to record myself using windows recording device and it worked fine. Ah, and i tried on other servers and it's just the same.

And obviously i haven't ticked the MUTE option...

This is what I had to do with mine

go into control pannel and select the sound and audio devices
select (under the Volume tab) the advanced button
enable wave sound and SW synth
MUTE the SW synth
this worked for me i hope this helps

what option for input device do you have?
Digitial Input is not correct for a standard, analog mic.
ensure you have the correct port.
if the jacks are auto sensing, ensure that the drivers are selecting the correct device.
