Default i cant hear anybody

what do i have to do? i've been told it could be a codec problem, or a server problem. Do i have to download the server to talk to people? When i try and download the server it dosn't seem to work correctly. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to do two things:

1) Have the person that administers the server to which you are connecting change the Codec to Speex. If they cannot administer the server directly, then they need to contact the hosting company's tech support to have the Codec changed.

2) Have Windows users that connect to that same server download the 2.3.2 beta 1 client.

how do they change the codec? and the wnidows clients just have to download a new server?

They change the server's .ini file. If they can't change it directly, they have the tech support at their hosting company change it.

The Windows clients download a new client (now 2.3.2 beta 3). It's at the bottom of the download page.
