Default can the server be hacked/invisible users?

we are an online gaming clan

recently, while in a gaming server, the server text chat from certain players indicated to us that someone was somehow listening in on our ventrilo

however, a quick check of the ventilo server revealed no-one but known members, and all of them server admins with ability to see all accounts

as if there was someone in our ventrilo server invisibly

is there any known hacks to do this? more importantly, is there any way to exclude this intrusion in future?

we have also thought about the possibility of someone leaking the server password, and have since reset it
can anyone who has the password enter the server invisibly somehow?

and again, if so, is there a way to secure it from this happening?

I've never seen any way to be invisible in a vent server, via hack or otherwise. someone can drop a 'phantom' into a channel that's listen-only but you would see the username with a "P" preceding it.

can you provide more details as to why they think someone was listening in invisibly?

unfortunately, nothign solid, or even a reasonable facsimile of such lol

example:

i would see 5 players in vent server after alt-tabbing out of game in progress

after a few minutes, we'd hear notification sounds of someone entering and/or leaving the server
still the same 5 in there when i would alt tab back out to see who caused the sounds

it has now come to light that someone questionable was allowed in the server, and we are now oeprating under the obvious premise that the guest PW was given to othhrs, and they have merely been entering, then leaving a short time thereafter before anyone can actually see the person....so that one is invisible is quite questionable now, tho we arent rulign it out completely

we have since reset the PW, and hope that will be the end of it, we will be monitoring closely

should anythign else occur, and/or pending whatever we may be able to find out this regarding our 'suspects', i will post here forthwith to advise

you can monitor in real-time with the RCON console

when in RCON type in:

monitor 1

you can also query the log using the loggrep command:

loggrep 20 CONN
loggrep 20 DISC

(these commands are case-sensitive)
the 20 just indicates the number of lines to display
