Default Ventrilo client trouble

Well, I have installed Ventrilo onto my desktop computer. I was working fine untill about a few hours ago. Then it started freaking out on me and would completly close the client down when I would open Internet Explorer. Then the last time I opened Internet Explorer it just would work anymore. I still have the Icon on my desktop but when I click on it nothing happens. I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. I've tried restarting my computer, checking all virus scans programs/firewalls, as well as the "Run as admin" thing. But nothing seems to be working. Is there anything that could be done to fix it?

try this:

goto START/RUN and enter: %appdata%\ventrilo
right-click on ventrilo2.ini and select “Rename”
give the file a different name

restart vent
re-enter your username and server information

I still got nothing and I found a ventrilo2 but nothing with Ventrilo2.ini. All I see are chatlogs, Temp, Default.vet, Ventrilo, and ventrilo2. So I renamed the ventrilo2 but I didn't see any ventrilo2.ini.

OK it worked fine for about another week after I restored my computer. Then it started doing the same thing it did before. It would disconnect me when I got on the internet. The last time I got on the internet it disconnected me. I got back on fine and then it just went poof. It wouldn't work again and went right back to doing the same thing. I don't really feel like restoring my computer everytime it does this.

ok, that indicates there's something changing after the restore point that's causing this problem. we just need to figure out what it is.

have you performed a full/deep virus scan/malware scan recently?

does the problem seem to start after installing windows updates or any other software updates?

check the pc's website for any BIOS/chipset and driver updates
