Stuck in "Connecting..."

Now, I love my Mac. As we all know, however, Macs just dont want to work with Ventrilo. Sucks. This problem is not spawned from Speex, however, but something I've never encountered before. When I go to log onto a friend's Ventrilo server, I end being stuck on "Connecting...". The only other reason I know why this would be happening is mistyped information, but I have double and triple checked that the information is correct.
I have other friends using Mac's connecting to this server.

What's wrong?
