alright, so I went through the thread and read almost all of it. I came to the conclusion that the problem probably was in the portwondering area. The router I'm using is the airport extreme. I went on to the http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm site, dug around, and found the instructions for port mapping. After that I set up the public and private port (3784) and the private IP address. However it can only be 10.0.1.xxx <- and that can't be used as a vent server IP address.

and just like that I'm really confused again... I'm sorry I'me hopless when it comes to any form of programing...

Post screenshots of your portforwarding configuration, the Internet tab from your Airport Admin Utility and the output of ifconfig -a from terminal.
