Default Is ventrilo abandoned?

Last ventrilo updates was at 2011.
Is still "The Devs are actively working on the next version" ?

yes, we are currently in beta and waiting on just a few more items for version 4 release.

There's some sort of symbolism in this... with the spam making this thread look unmaintained with the original topic asking about updates to Ventrilo.

I'll be honest, I've long switched to other solutions (as have a lot of other people.) It's been so long... I still check these forums for activity though.

Still, why can't see at least see some pictures of the new version? Or at least beta-test it? After so long, it's just weird still only hearing "we're working on it."

Will you guys ever open source something like the 2.3 version? I'd love to work on that and add in Opus 1.2 support, or port it for other platforms. Vent 2.3 is really where you guys had it figured out.

I didn't know they used to release betas for testing in the past. If they did this then they should go back to that release schedule so that most bugs and new features can be worked out before a stable version. I think at least half of the applications on my computer have pre-released betas for testing.
