Default Vist problem. I NEED HELP PLEASE!!

I have windows Vista and am tryin to download vent. If I choose the option to open file after download the file seems to down load but then nothing happens. If I choose save then a flile is saved to my desktop as an EFW file and I cannot open it. What do I do???

The only valid extensions for installation files are EXE and MSI.

Verify that you are downloading the correct file by clicking agree on the page below. If you have the 64-bit version of Windows XP, you will need to download that one instead. The page below is for the 32-bit version.

If you are using another browser other than Internet Explorer, you might want to try to open it with IE instead.

If you are using IE, then your Internet Explorer installation may be damaged. That opens another can of worms that I don't want to get into. A quick fix would be to download Google Chrome, Opera or Firefox as an immediate alternative.

The link pulled up correctly on my end to an EXE installation file.

that's your CA antivirus that's renaming it.

change the name after the i386 to EXE

I'm having the same problem and I can't run or download the file for Ventrilo.
I've disabled McAfee and my firewall, and if I try to download and save the file nothing happens, but if I try to run the file it will install approx. 80% and hang.

do you still have the firewall/virus apps disabled when trying to install?
