Default My Thread of Problems

I am having trouble with Ventrilo. Go figure.

Anyway, upon hitting the Connect button, it goes through the normal process and actually seems to connect to a server without making any noise or any channels/users showing up.

Then, it usually disconnects and goes through the automatic reconnection process.

Occasionally, I do actually manage to get into a server, and then the ping starts...

It jumps from a mere 150 to sometimes upwards of 40000.

Personally, I blame the internet connection at my college. But really, what could be causing this?

... I am not familiar with this term. Please elaborate?

Also, when I blamed my college internet, I'm blaming their firewall.
