Default Macintosh Server

Ok, so I downloaded the mac OS X ventrilo server, and i can't get it to work. first of all, what program is the server supposed to open up in? secondly, i use Terminal, and this is what it says when i open it.

Don't double-click it.

Use terminal to issue the command manually.

cd /Users/sandorferenczy/Desktop/ventrilo_srv-2.3.1-Darwin-powerpc
./ventrilo_srv &

You can also create a shell script you can double click. That's what I use. I can post the script next time I'm on the machine that's running the server and instructions on how to make it so you can double click it to launch the server.

Okay, here's the body of the script:

#!/bin/sh

path=`dirname "$0"`

cd "$path"

./ventrilo_srv



That's it. Save it in a text file and give it executable permissions via chmod. The file should be in the same folder as the server binary. Rename the file with .command and you should be able to double click the file to launch a Terminal window that runs the server.
