Assuming the download is sitting on your desktop, try right clicking it with your mouse (or Control-Click the trackpad) and see if there is an option that says Open With...

Then select either

Stuffit Expander (which may not be installed)
or
BOMArchiveHelper

or

Select the .zipped file, go to the File Menu and Get Info
In the middle of that window in the Open With section, select either Stuffit Expander, BOMArchiveHelper or Archive Utility.

or if none of the above is working for you, download an unzipper application like Stuffit Expander or unarchiver

I tried all of that, in so many different ways. I tried using a different browser... nothing is working. Are you sure Vent still works on Mac (Tiger) 10.4.11? Because if not i will be super depressed =(

Unhappy same trouble

I am using snow leopard, but had the same problem. It turned out to be a problem with the OS just not accepting all downloads. This was true for Mac specific programs as well. Downloading an OS update helped me. [ If that doesn't help... contact Mac and complain?
