Default Ventrilo PDA client for around town.

1> I would pay $25 bucks for just a client version of Ventrilo. Not a server but a end user client to connect to my world of warcraft guilds Ventrilo server.

2> this would solve a few problems.
-running multi monitors slows down system performance. So i can see whos being obnoxious on raids with an open mix or having sound issues i can help then solve.

3> being mobile quite a lot I prefer PDA over laptop. Pull out a PDA pop on the blue tooth headset and I can direct raids with out having to install Ventrilo PC client all over town.

4> and what size donation would you guys want to kick out a PDA version? Open a paypay donation site and when levels reach $Xxx.xx ? Then if people wanted a PDA version they could be charged a download fee or charged for the actual software and a special key.

/bump

I personally have no immediate need, but I would love to see this implemented.

I know this is not the right section to post this in, but what amount of money would speed up the linux client?

I can't ditch Windows till Flagship works his magic!

That'd be wicked. You could manage your vent server from anywhere!

Interesting, what about just a small web client built into the server? java based maybe that could be used on most pda's or wep enabled cell phones.

I registered here simply to jump on this bandwagon. A Vent client for Windows Mobile 5+ would be fantastic, especially if it could make use of EDGE rather than just WiFi. I could completely get rid of my minutes on my cell plan and simply work a Vent via EDGE system.

An overview of uses:

1) *Must* be EDGE capable
2) Should auto reconnect if signal drops, with user definable limits on number of tries, including infinite.
3) Allow a bluetooth device to key the mic, if possible, but definitely allow QWERTY keys to activate, as well as a TFT button, if available on the device.
4) it may be necessary to make 3 versions, one for QWERTY phones, one for PDAs and one for standard design Smartphones, as far as interface options. PDAs would use a touch key, QWERTY phones would use any key, and of course cell phones would need some method to activate as well.
5) Release versions as available- don't hold up release if you cant get the Smartphone to work right, just get it out there.

Hit 4 of those points, and I'd even pay for the client.

Been checking the site for a while, but I've just registered to add my name to the list of people hoping for a pocketpc client.
