Default How to change mics?

Im using an intel mac and Id like to know how to change the microphone that ventrilo uses to speak. It's currently using the built-in microhpone but I want to use my headset's microhpone since it's better sound quality. I tried to change it in setup but they couldn't hear me :S

You cannot use a standard analog mic with a Mac as it does not provide enough input signal.

You need a analog-to-USB converter:

It's available in most Mac-friendly outlets such as Apple stores, CompUSA (Mac section), etc.
