Default Zip File Error#17535

I have a Mac Power PC running Mac OSX 10.4.9
I downloaded the mac osx version and when trying to unzip I get a error message from Stuff-It that says "An error occurred during the Stuff operation. Error #17535"

Any Idea's? Can someone send me an unzipped version???

I would guess your Stuffit is way out of date.

You can change the application assigned to unzip files by choosing the file, and hitting command-I to get info.

Expand the "Open With" section and choose BOMArchiveHelper as the application to open .zip files. I'd recommend you also choose "Change all" to make that same change for all Zip files.

If BOMArchiveHelper is not listed, it can be found in /System/Library/CoreServices (you can select it by choosing "Other..." from the popup menu.

Wade, I've seen posts like this before and I have to wonder why StuffIt would have these problems when I distro normal zip files. Is their software just junk or do you think there is a specific reason?

TIA,

Flag...not sure why old stuffit would have a problem...didn't the zip file format change slightly somewhere along the way?

In any case, the root cause is generally a very old version of StuffitExpander hanging around on the hard drive somewhere.

what browser are you using sethmh82?
previously, using Safari instead of Firefox has corrected the issue.
