Default vent box moves and screen splits when click to talk

I am in desperation mode now. When I click to talk, my vent box and whole screen splits into however many screens I have open and it wont go off open mic either. I never had this happen in 2 1/2 years and i don't know how to fix this! Also, lol...I don't know how to find my post again to see replies. I thought I had posted this earlier but for the life of me I cannot find it! I am in sad shape apparently. I really am frustrated with the vent thing.
Things I tried:
Already checked the box Universal Access for assisted devices.
I uninstalled Vent and reinstalled it. I think I did that right??
Also, tried changing mice and hot keys for talking.

Default

sounds like there's another app that's intercepting keystrokes.

goto 'system preferences' and check the following settings:

appearance
expose and spaces
keyboard
mouse
trackpad
unversal access > keyboard and mouse tabs
