Default PTT Advanced Mute all other Users?

I have been trying to set up the Mute other Users in ventrilo for myself and a few other users in vent.
Here is the process I've gone through to attempt to set this up:
[my user name]
User Editor - Transmit - Mute others while talking (ppt advanced)
[update - close]
Bindings - New - Add - Edit (control instead of fn- fn is my usual push to talk key) PTT Advanced - Transmit style - Current channel - ok
***There is no option here to mute all others, or mute incoming streams as set like in the windows version***

When I use my Control button it acts like a regular push to talk key without globally muting.
At this point I've tried using a window's version of ventrilo with the same thing as above except that in the window's version I have the option to global mute or just mute incoming streams. When I do this, there is no change.

At this point I can't seem to find a way to fix this and I would love for some help.

My question is what are you trying to accomplish?

Mute certain others in your channel when you speak? All others? Others in a group?

I am trying to mute all others when I use my hotkey for PTT advanced.
When I ran vent on the windowed version, using the same process I had the option to mute all incoming streams (which just muted others to me but not to everyone else) or to mute all others (which meant that I could hear what others were saying but no one else could.
There is no checkboxes in the Mac version for the mute incoming streams or mute others.
I want to be able to mute all others when I'm talking using the PTT advanced hotkey.

Similarly, if lets say 3 people have the ptt advanced feature and all three of us, use our hotkey, does ventrilo just pick who pressed it first or, how does that work?

As a test, when you have

User Editor - Transmit - Mute others while talking (ppt advanced)

checked, and you press you PTT key, does it mute all others?

Are you an admin on the channel in question?

User Editor->Select yourself->Admin

and also on the Chan Admin Tab - is the channel listed under current?
