are you using push to talk?
if yes, then try enabling directinput in ventrilo setup

You need to run the Ventrilo Client with administrative access. This is new in Vista. And for future reference, if you're having problems with applications, running them as administrator might take care of the problems.

1. Right click on your ventrilo icon and click properties.
2. Click the compatibility tab.
3. Enable Run as Administrator
4. Click the OK button.

Now, when you launch vent, it will pop up and ask you to authorize it to run. Click Yes, and it will launch.

If you don't run it with administrator access, Ventrilo "can't see" your PTT key if it is minimized.

I'm having similar problems as this: running Vista but my push to talk key suddenly stopped working out of nowhere.

I am having the same exact problem. Vent was working fine, I hadn't installed anything else onto the computer or changed any of the settings in Vent. Out of nowhere, push to talk stopped working for me.

I have all the settings supposedly correct in Ventrilo from what I have seen.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Ventrilo.

I've tried uninstalling, deleting any Ventrilo entries in my registry, and reinstalling - still doesn't work.

I've tried installing it into a different directory name.

I have Vista, and I have tried running the program as administrator, it makes no difference and still does not work.

Voice activation does not work either, even by increasing sensitivity, but that is not what I am looking for here. Why is my push to talk suddenly not working, and how do I make this work again? How do I fix this?
