There could be several things causing the application to quit as you are describing. First things first - we need to completely remove Vent from your computer and reinstall it.

Remove the following items from their respective folders:

1) Go into the Applications folder and trash the Ventrilo application

2) Go into your home folder->Library folder->Preferences folder and trash the Ventrilo folder

3) Restart

4) Download the current Ventrilo Mac Installer here:
http://www.ventrilo.com/dlprod.php?id=2

5) Install Ventrilo and give it a try.
