Bad sound with Bluetooth headset.

I was able to set up my Motorola H500 to work with ventrilo, but my guildmates say that the sound quality is not very good. Sometimes they say I sound like I'm talking into a can; other times they say it sounds like I'm a robot.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

All bluetooth microphones seem to only support 8Khz sample rate on the Mac. I have two of them and they both do the same thing. I suspect this is a OSX limitation rather then the hardware.

8KHz is terrible sounding as your guildmates with testify too.

Flagship,

What are the sample rates typically supported on Windows? I'll open a bug with Apple on this.

headset profile (HSP)—enables the use of Bluetooth-enabled wireless headsets for applications such as iChat. This profile does not enable use of Apple Speech Recognition due to the fact that it is a low-precision audio channel.

What about on a windows xp machine? i think my bluetooth mic is transmitting at 8khz too and people tell me it sounds really bad, but i can't find anywhere in the headset profile to change this.
