server problem

Hey,

I tried to make a server, but when i come to the part of opening it, it just won't open. I type cd ventrilo_srv-2.3.1-Darwin-powerpc
./ventrilo_srv
and it just says: No such file or directory

I use a mac OS X 5.1

Firewall if off, and the router has the ports set.

I think it's cause it's a new server, but the instructions haven't been updated :S

are you using terminal to the directory where the server files are located?

Not quite, too sure what you mean by that, but i think i vaguely do, the files are saved on the desktop, and i type
users/gene/desktop/ventsrv
./ventrilo_srv

i changed type cd ventrilo_srv-2.3.1-Darwin-powerpc to ventsrv (when typed in terminal), beacause cd ventrilo_srv-2.3.1-Darwin-powerpc doesn't work, and the file is automatically stored as ventsrv

You're not issuing the change directory (cd) command. Additionally, your capitalization is wrong - Unix is case-sensitive - "close enough" won't work.

It would be:

cd /Users/gene/Desktop/ventsrv (I'm making the assumption here that your username really is "gene" all lower-case - if it's not, change it appropriately)
./ventrilo_srv
